Frequently Asked Questions

Are you or members of your team (at RMG) mental health or behavioral health professionals?

No. We are community-builders framing resilience in the context of frontline mental & behavioral health support. RMG may introduce clinicians into the mix, as needed and upon request; however, as a rule, we are multi-faceted professionals capable of jumpstarting organizational and systemic change through transformational processes. We do not hold a clinical license. Please note that we do not claim to be therapists, because we believe there are qualified people out there—capable of assuming that expert role! RMG employs frontline methods to reduce stigma, build comprehensive and customized referrals, strengthen family and community, while introducing licensed, clinical social workers, art therapists, music therapists, psychologists, counselors, psychiatrists, etc.—into the mix.

We are frontline interventionists, “minding the gap” between community, organization, and providers of mental, physical and behavioral support. Therefore, we gladly defer to professionals and expert clinicians, because they are our allies and accept referrals as we shore up the frontline; in fact, we work hand-in-hand with supportive professionals!

Our role is clear: all paths lead to the expert providers of mental & behavioral health. We build the yellow brick road to licensed professionals capable of sustaining more robust mental health referrals. We fully support integration of the arts and mental and behavioral health using frontline interventions that are powerful yet foundational and non-clinical. We are highly skilled and trained to provide non-clinical interventions—all of which reinforce the expert role of clinicians in our community and around the world.

Is this a religious process?

No. However, there is a “sacred” process of becoming whole. We unabashedly believe that human beings are composed of a heart that must learn reverence and attunement—to be present, in a space of holistic healing. We embrace a central theme of becoming more humane and compassionate on four levels: mind/imagination, will/motivation, affect/emotion, and embodied experience. The human existence tightly knits together a body—with the heart, the mind, and the spirit.

We exist through connection—to: a power higher than ourselves (God); people in relationship with us (family & community); and our environment (creation and all living creatures). We operate on these core values which infuse the spiritually oriented themes we employ: the four Cs of Concern, Care, Compassion & Communication.

If your family, community or organization prefers to steer clear of exploring sacred practices, we will respectfully accommodate your comfort level.

Are you interested in collaborating on research with an institution of higher learning?

Yes. Renée is an academic and educator, with a deep appreciation for research—both applied and action-oriented. Contact Renée to collaborate on a research project, co-author an article, share a podcast episode, hold an academic forum, or submit a proposal (to a professional conference).

HOw long are your workshops?

That is up to you, but we generally need to keep workshops to a 1hr. minimum and 4hr. maximum, with a break for good measure and a stretch or two. We provide daylong trainings as well as retreats, and up to five days of intervention (4hrs/day) with half payment ahead of arrival, and half post-training.

What are your payment options?

We’ll send you an invoice—either via email or snail mail; it’s up to you. Payments can be processed via electronic invoice or check, payable to “Reed-Miller Group, LLC.”

Do you provide interviews?

Yes. Renée Reed-Miller will accept requests for interviews on a case-by-case basis—provided the publication aligns with the values of RMG to promote well-being in families, communities, and organizations. Please schedule an appointment to request an interview.

Are any of you artists?

You bet! We are all renaissance-minded. Art fuels everything we do. We are creative beings expressing a powerful creative force, exuding passion for beauty and whole connection in community, among all peoples.

Do you collaborate with a charity or a non-profit organization?

Yes, 10% of our income goes to benevolence funding on a community level.

Do I have to be an artist to engage in art enrichment activities?

Nope. We are all creative people, in some way or another. We do not have to be “good” at art, to participate! Hands-down, professional artists may find it more difficult to attend our workshops—because all of their past training may trip them up and prevent them from relaxing into the “flow” of the process. If you have artistic background, we invite you to add these tool to your tool-kit; if you have no artistic background, you are well-suited to engaging in these techniques no matter your perception of personal creativity. Contact us today, to unlock your creative potential.

Do you work outside of the USA?

Absolutely. We are global. We will work in any country, upon request—as long as the effort strengthens local agency and community-based goals.

We are community-builders and boundary-spanners with a vision to see local-to-global efforts build bridges across national divides.

Do you work with individuals, as a coach?

Yes, our founder, Renée, coaches like-minded professionals in how to integrate work—into the greater whole of service coordination, using her methods. Coaching is reciprocal, and she selectively coaches executives and caring professionals who present unique perspectives that align with RMG’s approach. If you think your work fits with RMG’s philosophy, contact Renée to consider joining our team effort—where individuals shine in their own right, while maximizing impact together.
